Super tasty Food Arrowhead @ Wapato Root

Arrowhead also known as duck-potato, broadleaf arrowhead, Indian potato, or wapato is widely grown aquatic perennial plant.

Arrowhead has been a long history in Chinese's history. Because of the extraordinary bitterness, they will cook it for during celebration especially in Chine New Year.

Stew Arrowhead's Ingredient

Cook Time: 30 mins Servings: 1 plate

1. Arrowhead 700 g (around 7-8 pcs)

2. Vegetarian’s Mushroom Meat 150 g

3. Fermented Bean curd 3pcs

4. Soya Sauce 1 tbs

5. Brown sugar 1 tbs

6. Water 400 ml



1. First, let's pill the arrowhead.


2. Cut the arrowhead to medium size.


3. Cut the Vegetarian's mushroom meat to 2.5 cm stick size


4. Prepare the sauce. Fermented Bean curd 3pcs, Soya Sauce 1 tbs, Brown sugar 1 tbs


5. Mix it thoroughly!


6. Add the two tablespoons of cooking oil, and stew fry the Vegetarian's mushroom meat for 2 - 3 mins with medium-high heat.


7. Add the mixed sauce and stew it for 20 sec - 40 sec.


8. Add the arrowhead and stew fry for 1 - 2 mins


9. Add 400ml water and boil it.



10. After the water boiled, turn to medium-low heat and stew it for 15 mins.


11. After that put it on the plate you like, then you are done!
